About Us
FROM CHILDREN’S COLORING BOOKS TO A SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS
Founded in Amman in 2010 by the talented Lara Kawash, Luna Kawash & Zeena Daher, with love and dedication to vibrant colors & art, the two sisters and cousins decided to transform their childhood favorite activity into a sustainable business. With the goal of women empowerment in mind, the partners started with a mini collection of hand-decorated home accessories and tableware. The early products were decorated by the three partners and marketed through open-house events and local bazaars. The brand gained immediate recognition and the products sold out quickly.
FROM LOCAL BAZAARS TO E-COMMERCE
As the e-commerce business continued to grow, the demand for Lara Kaza products multiplied, as many e-commerce websites emerged, and their orders superseded the partners' capacity to produce enough to keep up with the demand. It was high time to open their first workshop, with “Empowering women through art” as one of the brand’s core values, the first workshop opened in 2012 in Al-Hashimi Al-Shamali, one of the underprivileged areas in Amman, employing women from the area.
Today, the workshop employs eight women that are determined to assume their part as a productive workforce, and as household breadwinners.
FROM AMMAN TO CAIRO
As part of the brand’s regional expansion plan, a workshop was opened in Cairo in early 2023 to cater to the increased demand from the Egyptian market.
